Percy's Unlucky Day

I won't be posting full images of the next half of my upcoming show like I've been doing but I can show you which orphan I'm working on next.

Percy doesn't know it yet, but she will be catching an unavoidable childhood illness.

While You Were Sleeping

***Edited 11/25 (by ana)*** I'm done! Ara's picture is more true to color, I don't know why I desaturated this so.

***End Edit***

Ana hasn't slept for two days working on Chelsea, below. She's asleep now, so I've posted a sneak peak of the painting in progress:

Chelsea

I've been working on Chelsea this past week. This one has been more challenging than the others for some reason. I've had a lot of trouble with the shape of the eyes. Each one is 2 inches! The blue background is water.

Mildred Animated

I made a process animation for the painting of Mildred! ^_^
If only I had a bigger scanner, I could animate all of my paintings.

Anra takes on San Francisco

I was called upon to do some freelance animation work in San Francisco for a couple weeks, so Ana and I packed our things and headed north where friend and fellow designer Steve Neumann graciously took us in for the long haul.

SF -> Yosemite -> Fresno

After a short break from the city in Yosemite, we are now in Fresno for a week. I've been able to do some drawings and have another oil portrait on the way. I'm saving the progress shots for another post.

I've also been working some more sketches for my cut-outs that I posted about a few months ago. They were previously going to be in my show at Billy Shire in March, but since they no longer fit the theme of my show, I'm going to save them for a separate group show Lola asked me to be in on March 7th at Copro Nason during her solo show.

Last Weekend in SF

Ara pulling me out of a basketball game, photo by Stephanie

This is our last weekend in San Francisco. We've been lucky enough to have good weather for two weeks. Unfortunately for APE, it started raining heavily today.

We picked up some goodies today though. My favorites are two little books from Esther Pearl Watson. I was missing one in her 'Unloveable' series and I picked up 'Romeo and Juliet.' I also love this little Mario Ghost magnet that is "Made by Amy." There is no contact info on it, so I don't know how to look her up.

Huge whiskey shots with a splash of Coke.

Just kidding, this is really what we've been doing for two weeks.

*If you've ordered our postcard set or greeting card in the last two weeks, they will be shipped when I return to Los Angeles on November 10th.
